Project Manager - Commercial Construction (TIs)

This is a Project Management position working with Project Coordinators and Site Superintendents to complete commercial construction projects. This position requires an individual experienced in commercial tenant improvements to join our team. Matra is a commercial general contractor and construction management firm, specializing in interior tenant improvements and working in occupied spaces. Our head office is located in North Burnaby with the majority of the projects in the Lower Mainland. Our team works from the office five days per week and attends site regularly, as required.
The successful candidate will plan, direct and manage the activities of commercial construction project to the total performance of each project in conformance with corporate processes and procedures. They will be responsible for the overall successful execution and management of project initiatives.
The position involves the following:
- Plan, direct and manage construction projects from start to finish according to budget, schedule, specifications and drawings
- Manage all contractual obligations including client obligation and procuring subcontractors/suppliers
- Organize and direct site supervision and labour
- Plan and prepare construction schedule; monitor progress and identify risk points
- Follow internal administrative processes including budget tracking and cash projections
Applicants should have 5+ years of experience as a commercial project manager including experience specifically on commercial tenant improvements. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the commercial interior fit-up industry and a trade background.
Salary is negotiable upon experience. Vehicle and cell phone allowance will also be provided.
