Technical Services & Quality Specialist. This role plays a key part in supporting custom precast solutions while helping maintain strong quality and compliance standards across the organization. Reporting to the Operations team, this individual will provide technical support to customers and internal teams, contribute to estimating and work-order development, and support CSA and CWB quality programs.
As the Technical Services & Quality Specialist you will:
- Provide technical guidance and product support for standard, modified, and custom precast concrete solutions.
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email and interpret project requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Estimate material quantities and pricing; prepare clear verbal and written quotations.
- Communicate technical solutions using CAD drawings, sketches, and supporting documentation.
- Generate and release work orders to production and manage projects through completion.
- Act as a liaison between customers, Sales, Engineering, Drafting, and Production to support accuracy, timelines, and delivery.
- Support Sales and Estimating during bid preparation and future project pursuits.
- Assist with new product development, including custom precast designs, reinforcement systems, and steel forms.
- Review and verify drawings for technical accuracy and alignment with project and quality requirements.
- Support the Quality Management Program, including CSA and CWB compliance activities, documentation control, audits, and corrective actions.
- Assist with office and plant administration, including special projects as required.
You and Your Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the precast concrete industry or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience with estimating, technical sales support, or construction is an asset.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, FreeCAD) is an asset.
- Coding experience in Python, VBA, or MATLAB is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
