Sault College is seeking a qualified part-time professor to support Dual Credit Construction programming within the School of Trades, Technology & Apprenticeship.
Dual Credit programs provide high school students with the opportunity to earn both secondary school and college credits while exploring career pathways in the skilled trades.
We are looking for an experienced construction professional who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping students discover the opportunities available within the construction industry.
Fall 2026 Courses Available
- CCT100 – Construction Safety/Tools
- CTT140 – Construction Basics
What You'll Teach
Instruction will focus on introductory construction concepts, including and many more:
- Construction safety practices and procedures
- Occupational health and safety requirements
- Personal protective equipment and safe work practices
- Worksite communication and professionalism
- Safe operation of hand and power tools
Courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on shop and lab learning.
What We're looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Hold a Certificate of Qualification in a construction-related trade recognized in Ontario
- Have relevant industry experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction safety practices and tool operation
Previous teaching, mentoring, apprenticeship training, or supervisory experience is considered an asset, but not required.
Instruction is assigned based on your trade background and area of expertise.

- Evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and practical activities
- Encourage students to explore careers and apprenticeship pathways within the skilled trades

Position Details
- Position: Part-Time Professor – Construction (Dual Credit)
- Location: Sault College, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Schedule: Part-time; weekday morning instruction during the academic year to align with high school scheduling needs
