About the role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Construction Helper to join our team. This position involves assisting skilled tradespeople and performing general labour tasks to support construction projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople (carpenters, welders, etc.) with daily tasks
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools
- Prepare and clean job sites, removing debris and hazards
- Set up and dismantle temporary structures (e.g., scaffolding)
- Operate basic hand and power tools as instructed
- Dig trenches, backfill, and perform basic site work
- Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas
Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Basic knowledge of tools and construction practices (asset)
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is a plus ; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass any necessary background checks or drug screenings required by the employer
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
