Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects from the initial bid to project completion. In this vital role, you will leverage your expertise in construction estimating, project management, and pricing to deliver accurate, competitive bids that align with client expectations and company standards. Duties
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing data and negotiate terms that benefit both parties.
- Develop detailed cost proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, ensuring all aspects of the project are accurately accounted for.
- Review project scopes to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in bid submission processes by preparing clear, professional proposals that highlight competitive advantages.
- Support project management teams throughout the project lifecycle by providing ongoing cost analysis and updates.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, pricing data, and contractual documentation for future reference and audits.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction pricing strategies, labor rates, material costs, and bidding procedures.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners confidently.
- Construction experience is highly preferred to ensure practical understanding of field operations.
