WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Staff Accountant, you will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting functions while working towards your CPA designation. Our goal is to support your development into a well-rounded accountant and trusted advisor.
- Preparation of compilation and review engagements and assisting seniors with audit engagements
- Preparation of financial statements in compliance with ASPE
- Preparation of personal, trust, and corporate income tax returns, as well as other compliance slips
- Exposure to bookkeeping, data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
- Assisting the tax department with special tax engagements
- Investigating and correcting discrepancies or irregularities in financial entries and documents
- Responding to client inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Updating managers and engagement partners on engagement progress
- Participating in various internal committees and summer projects
- Contributing to a collaborative team culture — and having fun while doing so
WHAT YOU BRING
- Working towards the completion of an undergraduate degree and prerequisites for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience preferred
- Familiarity with accounting concepts and principles, and an interest in tax and accounting work
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of accounting software (Caseware, Caseview, TaxPrep, Profile, QuickBooks, Xero, Jonas, Sage) is an asset but not required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to travel between client sites in the GTA as needed; valid driver’s license is an asset.

Base Compensation: $55,000-$70,000
Placement within the range is determined through the interview process and is based on a candidate's knowledge skills and qualifications for the role.
