Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Masonry Labourer / Bricklayer Apprentice to join our construction team in the Annapolis Royal area. Duties
- Assist with the preparation and mixing of mortar and other materials required for masonry work
- Handle hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and hammers to support bricklaying activities
- Operate power tools under supervision for cutting, grinding, or shaping bricks and stones.
- Support the installation of bricks, blocks, stone veneer, and other masonry materials on various structures
- Participate in renovation and restoration projects by removing old materials and preparing surfaces for new installations.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of caulking tools and safety gear during all tasks
- Assist in maintaining a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal
Skills
- Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels
- Basic understanding of construction principles and masonry techniques
- Experience or interest in using power tools safely and effectively on job sites
- Knowledge of renovation and restoration processes within construction environments
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision in measurements and placements
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
- Willingness to learn new skills related to caulking, schematics interpretation, and advanced masonry techniques
