VxL Canada is seeking highly skilled and experienced Security Manager for uniformed security services. Candidates receive exceptional training from one of America’s highest skilled security organizations and from the US Government. VxL offers excellent compensation and employment benefits. Who you are:
The Guard Force Commander (GFC) shall have completed a secondary education, high school, or National Diploma. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the military, police or guard force with proven experience in leadership roles is required; however, a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration, or management may substitute for 4 years of military, police or guard force. A minimum of five years’ work experience in the host country. GFC shall be computer literate to a basic level, that is, able to write basic reports, produce Standard Operating Procedures, and email. Advanced security training and experience with risk management including problem identification and problem solving required.
The Guard Force Commander MUST:
- Be a Canadian citizen, or a third country national in possession of a PR (work permit not eligble);
- Have a minimum of 5 years progressive security supervisory and or management experience (or equivalent law enforcement and/or military experience);
- Have a minimum of 5 years verifiable in Canada;
- Have a valid Ontario Security License;
- Have a valid First Aid Certificate;
- Have the ability to be certified as a Use of Force instructor;
- Speak fluent English, possessing English speaking/reading skill level S3/R3;
- Be able to prepare guard orders, deployment of guards and weekly scheduling;
- Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts;
- Investigate irregularities, maintain inventory reports;
- Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding discipline and termination actions;
- Oversee the refresher training program to ensure compliance and effectiveness;
- Oversee guard program logistics including, e.g., explosive detection and x-ray equipment;
- Act as a point of contact with the COR and GTM on operational guard force matters;
- Ensure all guards are properly uniformed, equipped and staffed per the exhibit A;
- Plan, coordinate and lead LGF during integrated training and emergency response drills with the RSO
- Hold a current and valid Ontario driver’s license
