Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and experienced Home Support Worker to assist a senior returning home from the hospital. Located in Richmond, BC. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities to support their comfort, safety, and recovery at home.
Duties
- Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, combing hair, and general hygiene
- Help a senior with very limited mobility with transfers and safe movement around the home
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed
- Cook nutritious South Asian/Indian meals
- Provide light massage and comfort care as appropriate
- Administer or remind about medications as directed
- Monitor overall wellbeing and report any concerns to family or healthcare providers
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with simple technology use such as TV remotes, cell phones, and video calls
- Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, dishes, and tidying
Qualifications
- Previous caregiving or home support experience preferred
- Fluent in Punjabi preferred
- Experience cooking South Asian/Indian food preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Ability to safely assist a senior with mobility needs
- CPR/First Aid certification is an asset
- Criminal record check may be required
- References preferred
- Strong caregiving skills with compassion and patience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed care plans
- Certification in medication administration or caregiving is a plus but not required
Pay: $17.86-$18.25 per hour
