Position Summary
We’re looking for a driven, technically minded Sales Representative with experience in building materials, construction supply, or high‑performance building systems. You’ll grow your territory by building strong relationships, supporting customers with product expertise, and helping contractors and builders choose the right solutions for their projects.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how construction decisions are made, enjoys being on job sites, and thrives on solving problems for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, developers, architects, and distributors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your territory
- Conduct product demos, jobsite visits, and technical presentations
- Prepare quotes, follow up on leads, and close sales opportunities
- Collaborate with internal team to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer support (i.e. occasional reception and/or warehousing duties may be required)
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reports, and forecasts
- Stay current on market trends, building codes, and high‑performance construction practices
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales experience in building materials, construction products, or industrial supply
- Strong understanding of the construction industry and contractor buying process
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational and time‑management abilities
- Comfortable working independently and managing a territory
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling high‑performance, specialty, or building envelope products
- Existing relationships within the construction or building supply community
- Technical aptitude and ability to explain product performance and building‑science benefits
