Position Title: Middle School Teacher (0.5 FTE)

As a central division of the Society, Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus-based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in-person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. Reports to: Principal
Overview: The Teacher must be a dedicated, passionate, and adaptable educator who creates a nurturing, stimulating, and Christ-centered learning environment. Operating at a 0.5 FTE capacity, the initial assignment will be responsible for fostering the academic, spiritual, and social development of Grade 7 students, with a specific focus on core curriculum areas such as Math and English, while supporting students through a pivotal transitional school year.
Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies:
- Instructional Excellence: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Grade 7 that align with the BC Ministry of Education’s standards and a Biblical worldview . Target core subjects (Math/English) to drive academic growth and critical thinking .
- Classroom Culture & Management: Create a safe, positive, and stimulating environment that encourages student participation, models servant leadership, and addresses the unique social-emotional needs of Grade 7 students .
- Assessment & Support: Evaluate student progress through diverse methods and provide individualized support to ensure every child reaches their learning goals .
- 0.5 FTE Collaboration: Work effectively and communicate seamlessly with parents, students, and colleagues . Demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively manage a part-time schedule or potential job-share environment .
- Innovative Mindset: Adaptable and eager to implement creative teaching strategies (such as "Frenchify" techniques) in a fast-paced environment .

Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: CA $54,000 - 87,000 annually (Full-Time Equivalent; to be pro-rated to 0.5 FTE based on experience and the collective agreement scale).
- Benefits: Extended Health & Dental, Pension plan available upon eligibility.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Certification: BC Teaching Certificate (Preferred).
- Education: BA Degree in Education (or equivalent) with a relevant specialty or experience teaching middle-school aged children (Grade 6–9).
- Skills: Proficiency in Math and English instruction, strong classroom management, and familiarity with office software for administrative tasks.
- Spiritual Alignment: A deep understanding of a Christian and Biblical worldview, a commitment to Christian Education, and active participation in a Christian church community.
- Relational Attributes: Friendly, even-tempered, optimistic, and a servant-hearted team player.
