Duties
- Perform comprehensive annual inspections of sprinkler systems, ensuring all components meet safety and code requirements.
- Test and verify the functionality of fire suppression systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system schematics to accurately assess system layouts and identify issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on sprinkler systems utilizing hand tools, welding techniques (MIG, TIG), and rigging skills.
- Document inspection results, maintenance activities, and system conditions clearly and accurately for compliance records.
- Collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot mechanical or plumbing issues related to sprinkler systems.
- Assist with system modifications or installations as needed, applying manufacturing and construction best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sprinkler system inspection, maintenance, or related construction or manufacturing fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding; experience with welding safety protocols is essential.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, plumbing principles, and schematics for integrated fire suppression solutions.
- Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and other precision measurement devices.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and system assessments during inspections.
- Experience with rigging procedures for equipment handling or system modifications.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to fire protection systems and building codes.
