We are seeking a motivated, organized, and hands-on individual to join our team as an Assistant General Manager.
As a family-run golf course, we are looking for someone who enjoys the golf industry and wants to take an active role in the daily operation of our facility. This position will work closely with ownership and our team to help oversee the golf course operations, support staff, and provide an excellent experience for our golfers.
This is a hands-on leadership role involving all aspects of golf course operations, including Pro Shop management, staff coordination, tournaments, customer service, and assisting with grounds operations.
The ideal candidate will have previous golf course experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced seasonal environment. Training and support will be provided, but we are looking for someone who understands the expectations and demands of a successful golf operation.
This is a full-time seasonal position from March through November and requires flexibility, including some evenings and most weekends throughout the golf season.
Responsibilities Include:Daily Golf Course Operations
- Assist with overseeing the daily operation of the golf course
- Coordinate priorities between the Pro Shop and grounds crew
- Help schedule, train, and support seasonal staff
- Ensure smooth daily operations and a positive golfer experience
- Assist with problem solving and operational decisions as they arise
Pro Shop & Customer Experience
- Oversee and support daily Pro Shop operations, including:
- Tee sheet management
- Staff scheduling and communication
- Customer service
- Retail and merchandise organization
- Addressing golfer questions and concerns
- Maintain a welcoming and professional environment for members and guests
Tournaments & Events
- Assist with planning and execution of tournaments, leagues, and special events
- Coordinate staff, setup, and operational details
- Help ensure events run smoothly from preparation through completion
Grounds & Course Support
- Work closely with the grounds team to support daily course needs
- Assist with course setup and seasonal projects
- Help coordinate operational priorities
- Assist with irrigation troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Assist with basic equipment and machinery repairs
Food & Beverage Support
- Assist with food and beverage operations as needed
- Help maintain service standards and required certifications
Qualifications:
Required:
- Previous golf course experience
- Smart Serve certification
- Food Handler certification
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
Assets:
- IPM certification or experience
- Irrigation knowledge
- Turf maintenance experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Golf course equipment experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience
