Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness is seeking a talented, driven individual with energy and enthusiasm for managing and developing a team of professionals.
Position Summary
A Club16 Limited Partnership (Club16LP) General Manager is responsible for all aspects related to Club16LP Operations. This includes providing leadership and daily direction to the sales and customer service teams in our facilities. Club16LP Managers must have a solid understanding of sales and operational excellence. This leader must pose a high caliber approach to coaching and staff development.
A Club16LP Manager is responsible for overseeing direction, coordination of the operational aspects of the Club including: Hiring, Training, Sales Production, Reception Desk Systems, Personal Training Operation, Additional Paid Programing, Member Services, Employee Scheduling, Payroll, and Human Resources compiling with the pre-determined company policies and procedures. Club16LP Managers are also responsible for interviewing, employee training, planning, assigning, and directing as needed. Managers appraise the performance of employees, reward employees, and recommend discipline as needed.
Essential Duties AND Responsibilities
- Screen, interview, hire, and train club employees as required.
- Onboard new Team members to Club16LP standards. Complete training checklists within the first 30 days of hiring.
- Model all Club activities through self-involvement (lead by example).
- Demonstrate a high level of Club16LP values (Transparent, Energetic, Accountable, and Member Focused).
- Be fully trained on the Club Sales Representative’s and Receptionist’s Job Descriptions.
- Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service through all interactions.
- Responsible for meeting performance metrics and operational requirements (Club KPI’S), revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, cost controls, maintenance, and month end administration.
- Participate in the daily sales process through selling memberships and additional services.
- Establish daily, weekly, and monthly goals and objectives for all sales areas. Confirm the goals with your Vice President of Operations (VP) or District Manager (DM). Then monitor and discuss these goals daily with all Sales Representative staff.
- Prepare Sales staff in advance for sales wrap up campaigns and for the launch of new promotions.
- Comply and adhere to Club16LP Business Policies for daily club operations.
- Conduct daily production meetings with Sales Representative staff and department heads. Conduct a monthly meeting for your Club Team.
- Attend all required company meetings and seminars and convey all applicable information in the meetings at the Club level.
- Oversee Human Resources (HR) items at the Club level in conjunction with the Club16LP policies and procedures.
- Conduct full daily Club walk-throughs (minimum 4 during each 8-hour shift) and review Club maintenance and cleanliness.
- Ensure that Club facilities are operated soundly and maintain the expected standard of cleanliness (including the duties performed by the night cleaners).
- Participate In Club events and promotions.
- Monitor Club key holders – ensure openings and closings of the Club.
- Have knowledge of the local competitors’ facilities, services, advertising, marketing, and pricing strategies.
- Assist in marketing the facility through community outreach programs and local public relations efforts.
- Additional Duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Knowledge
To perform this job successfully, a General Manager must be able to perform each essential duty to Club16LP standards. The General Manager must possess qualifications and knowledge of:
- Passion for fitness and proper nutrition. Engage in fitness activity minimum 2 times per week.
- Have good functional fitness knowledge.
- Interviewing techniques.
- Pertinent Labour laws that apply to the Club Operations.
- Emergency and Safety Procedures.
General Managers also must have the ability to:
- Perform detailed work.
- Work well with a group and independently.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Analyze facts and assist in resolving member issues as they arise.
- Make sound policy and procedural recommendations.
- Deal effectively with a diversity of individuals.
