Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and personable independent contractor Hair Stylist to rent our salon space at a senior's supportive living facility. Space is equipped with a sink & chair, two dryers, stylist chair, and storage cupboard. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hair styling, excellent customer service skills, a professional attitude and will have experience working with seniors. This role involves providing high-quality hair services, maintaining sanitation standards, and creating a welcoming environment for residents. Schedule of work will be determined by the successful candidate and the Site Manager. Rent is $310.00 per month, due on the first business day of each month. Interest will be charged for late payments. Contract will be signed on an annual basis, with a termination option for either party of 30 days.
Duties
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, color, treatments, and styling according to client preferences.
- Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs and offering personalized recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and tools in salon in compliance with health regulations. Landlord will provide weekly housekeeping to the salon space.
- Manage own business affairs including scheduling, communication with residents, payment methods.
- Foster a friendly and professional atmosphere to ensure repeat business and positive resident experiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hair Stylist with strong skills in hair styling, barbering, coloring, and treatments. Provide own products and tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to build rapport with residents. Experience working with seniors necessary.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures within a salon environment.
- Professional appearance and attitude, with a passion for the beauty industry, and serving our residents to ensure that they feel and look their best.
- Must provide the following: a) Journeyman Certificate, b) City of Lethbridge Business License, c) WCB Coverage, d) Liability Insurance e) Current Criminal Record Check (within the past 6 months.)
Pay: $15.00-$45.17 per hour
