About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on, and community-minded Building Caretaker to oversee the daily upkeep of a well-maintained 17-acre residential complex in Langley. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming grounds while ensuring recreational amenities are properly cared for.
A utility cart is provided to assist with patrolling and maintaining the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily patrols throughout the 17-acre property to ensure the grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Collect litter and debris from common areas, pathways, parking lots, and landscaped areas.
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the clubhouse and other shared amenities.
- Maintain the swimming pool and hot tub area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and presentable.
- Test and monitor pool and hot tub water chemistry, maintaining proper pH and chemical levels in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Complete routine pool maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance and testing logs.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, vandalism, or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Assist with light property maintenance and minor repairs as required.
- Ensure common areas are prepared for residents and visitors and maintained to a high standard.
- Work independently while providing excellent customer service to residents when needed.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Pool Operator Certification (or equivalent recognized pool maintenance certification) is required.
- Previous experience as a Building Caretaker, Property Caretaker, Maintenance Worker, Janitor, or similar role is an asset.
- Knowledge of pool and hot tub maintenance, water testing, and chemical balancing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to property maintenance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically capable of walking the property daily, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing general maintenance duties in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
