About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of one of our shopping mall properties. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the mall's building systems, common areas, and equipment.
This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for tenants, retailers, and visitors. It is ideal for someone with strong technical abilities, experience in commercial facilities maintenance, and a proactive, customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and other facility equipment.
- Respond promptly to retailer and tenant service requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust Building Automation Systems (BAS) to maintain occupant comfort and optimize energy efficiency.
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of common areas, service corridors, loading docks, and exterior property spaces.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for scheduled maintenance, specialized repairs, and capital projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and fire/life safety regulations.
- Support seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal coordination, landscaping oversight, and exterior upkeep.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours facility emergencies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facility operations, or a similar role (shopping mall or retail property experience is considered an asset).
- Technical diploma or certification in building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related trade is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and life safety systems.
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
