Our luxury, boutique hotel in Elora, ON is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Grounds & Facilities Manager to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring our properties remain pristine, safe, and beautifully maintained for every guest. The Grounds and Facilities Manager will act as a liaison between service providers, ensuring maintenance schedules are adhered to and all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the required standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and takes pride in delivering exceptional standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Property Care
- Perform landscaping checks including watering needs, litter removal, and monitoring plant health.
- Sweep pathways, patios, and balconies; wipe down exterior surfaces and furniture.
- Inspect windows, ledges, and exterior lighting for cleanliness and functionality.
- Verify batteries in remotes and door systems before guest arrivals.
Weekly Maintenance
- Trim plants, edge grass, and maintain garden aesthetics.
- Power wash patios and sidewalks as needed.
- Clean window screens and tracks.
- Refill fuel for the KF vehicle and maintain interior/exterior cleanliness.
- Inspect parking lot areas and maintain cleanliness around the hotel properties.
Monthly & Seasonal Duties
- Conduct tree inspections, weed gardens, and maintain landscaping.
- Prepare outdoor areas for seasonal changes (e.g., fall cleanup, winter storage).
- Install or remove Christmas lights seasonally.
- Support snow removal efforts, including salting pathways and clearing patios & balconies.
- Assist with pest control coordination.
Nordic Spa, Pools, Hot Tubs & Saunas
The Grounds & Facilities Manager will play a key role in ensuring our spa and wellness facilities remain immaculate, safe, and fully operational.
- Perform daily water‑quality checks for hot tubs, plunge pools, and spa features, including chemical balancing, temperature monitoring, and filtration oversight.
- Inspect saunas for proper heating, ventilation, and safety compliance.
- Clean and sanitize spa areas, ensuring all surfaces, benches, and equipment meet luxury‑hospitality standards.
- Monitor mechanical systems (pumps, heaters, filters) and report or resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure spa linens, amenities, and guest‑facing elements are stocked and presented to hotel standards.
- Conduct daily deep‑cleaning of spa facilities, including glass, tile, and wood surfaces.
Interior Maintenance
- Check thermostat settings and HVAC units for proper operation.
- Ensure all interior and exterior lights are functioning.
- Support carpet cleaning, upholstery care, and furnace filter changes.
- Inspect for moisture, unusual noises, or maintenance concerns in all guest areas.
Health & Safety
- Conduct fire extinguisher inspections and assist with semi‑annual fire alarm checks.
- Maintain safe walkways, monitor for ice buildup, and identify potential hazards.
Waste & Facility Management
- Monitor dumpsters and waste areas for cleanliness.
- Maintain common area washrooms, including cleaning, restocking, and locking/unlocking.
- Empty exterior garbage bins and maintain tidy public spaces.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property maintenance, hospitality, or facilities management preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable with outdoor work in all seasons.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping, minor repairs, and general building systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
