Position Overview
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. This is a dynamic, dual-role position that combines front desk responsibilities with hands-on patient care support.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys multitasking, and is passionate about both client communication and animal care.
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties:
- Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage a multi-line system
- Process payments and maintain accurate records
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding appointments, estimates, and follow-ups
- Support overall front desk organization and workflow
Assistant Duties:
- Restrain and handle dogs and cats safely and compassionately
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness/stocking
- Support patient care, including basic treatments and monitoring
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Comfort working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Previous veterinary clinic experience is an asset (but not required)
- Ability to adapt and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Schedule & Availability
- Clinic hours:
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Must be available for a mix of opening and closing shifts
- Occasional Saturday shifts required
