Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Siding and Soffit Installer to join our construction team. This role involves installing siding and soffit components on residential and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, carpentry, and the use of hand tools, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and physical stamina are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Measure and cut siding and soffit materials according to project specifications using hand tools and blueprint reading skills
- Install siding, soffit, and related exterior cladding on various building types
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to ensure efficient workflow
- Use caulking techniques to seal joints and ensure weatherproofing of installed components
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans
- Conduct site preparation, including surface cleaning and framing adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within scope
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or handyman work with a focus on siding or exterior finishing projects
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, drills, hammers, levels, and caulking guns
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights or on scaffolding
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for weatherproofing exterior surfaces
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Prior experience with blueprint reading is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
- Must be equipped with basic siding tools, such as aviation snips/shears, speed square, measuring tape, snap-blade knife, etc.
- Must be equipped with Standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, hard-hat, work boots, Hi-Vis Safety Vest, etc.
