Social Media Marketing Intern
Are you passionate about social media and content creation?
Our marketing team is expanding and looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to assist in the day-to-day management and coordination of the colleges’ social media accounts. They will help create and distribute content optimized for our social media platforms – with a focus on audience growth and post engagement.

The role will report to the Associate Director of Marketing. Please note that this position may extend to after school hours or on either weekend (ie. Saturday or Sunday).
Major Responsibilities:

Good grade standing on modules already completed
-
Create and implement social media campaigns that are in line with the colleges’ brand standards and business goals including destination videos, Reels, IG Live, Facebook Live, TikTok, and others as relevant

Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and others as required) including community management for the purpose of increasing post engagement and follower growth

Write, edit, manage, and schedule social media related content

Create visual assets (e.g. photography, video) for social media using Canva and other tools

Attend key events/webinars (some events might happen on evenings or weekends as necessary) to generate social media content

Conduct campus tours
-
Demonstrated experience in high-quality photography.

Knows video editing using CapCut or any mobile editing platform.

Assists in pre- and post-production activities, including lighting setup, photography using a professional camera, and photo editing.

Knows how to edit photos using Adobe Photoshop or Canva.

Keep current on issues, trends, technologies to implement new initiatives as appropriate

Maintain and distribute the university’s SWAG and marketing materials

Other projects/tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in the position, an individual must be committed to developing, maintaining, and demonstrating the following:

Must be enrolled as a student withing the University of Niagara Falls Canada during the entire duration of the contract.

Preferred that at start date, student has completed one term.

Preference for cumulative average of 70%.

Must be available for a minimum of 1 shift per week. Must be available for evening and weekend work, as scheduled.

Student has not exceeded the maximum of a six (6)-month term in any one department, coupled with a minimum of a three (3) month break in employment from UNF
-
Student is not currently in or close to a capstone project or an internship within their program of study.

Strong interest in Marketing and Communications, Student Support services, Student Career services, Office of the Registrar support, Library Services or related fields.

Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or valid work permit).

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Competencies
-
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Niagara Falls Canada.

Completion of at least one full-time term (April or July term starts are considered valid).

Academic standing must be in good standing with no active academic probation or disciplinary actions
-
Strong communication to convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.

Capable of balancing academic responsibilities with part-time work commitments.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.

Flexibility in handling a variety of tasks and willingness to learn new skills.
