Morning shift includes making feed for dairy cattle with tractor and skid steer, feeding baby calves, cleaning robot milking system, raking stalls, helping cows calve. Tending to a flock of broiler chickens and during the summer tending to blueberries and farm gardens/ponds.
Duties
- Feed and water dairy cattle and chickens according to farm schedules
- Assist with milking procedures and poultry care routines
- Perform routine maintenance on farm machinery and equipment
- Conduct cleaning and sanitation of animal housing and equipment
- Assist with moving feed, supplies, and livestock as needed
- Operate basic farm machinery safely and effectively
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns to farm management
- Support general farm tasks such as fencing, bedding, and minor repairs
Experience
- Previous experience working on a dairy or poultry farm is preferred but not required
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds) is essential
- Familiarity with farm machinery such as feeders, milking machines, or tractors is a plus
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow safety protocols
Responsibilities
- A Dairy Herdsperson:
- Maintains the health, nutrition, and breeding of milk cows
- Works with milk processing and sterilizing equipment
- Operates and maintains barn mechanical and electrical systems and farm mechanical equipment
- Performs milking
- Performs feeding and watering
- Performs herd health procedures
- Performs routine herd maintenance
- Operates and maintains farm mechanical and electrical systems
- Operates and maintains farm mechanical equipment.
Requirements
- Strong interest in agriculture, dairy farming, or related fields with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in understanding farm machinery operation and maintenance.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Prior experience with farm machinery or mechanical tools is a plus but not required; training will be provided.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
