Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our client's team, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and experience working with low voltage systems. The Maintenance Electrician will work closely with other maintenance personnel to uphold high standards of electrical safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production equipment
- Work with motors, drives, contactors, sensors, PLCs, control panels and 3 phase systems
- Perform preventive maintenance to help reduce downtime
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprints
- Complete work orders and document repairs accurately
- Follow electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement
- Communicate equipment status and repair timelines with production teams
Requirements
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician or Certificate of Qualification required
- 309A or 442A certification strongly preferred
- 3 to 5 years of industrial electrical experience
- Food, beverage, manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, relay logic and electrical testing equipment
- PLC or HMI troubleshooting experience is an asset
- GMP or CFIA-regulated experience is an asset
