Reports to: Executive Chef
Fredericton’s landmark historic hotel the Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook is looking for a dynamic professional to fill a Chef de Partie position. Join the passionate and creative team and be part of the celebrated food and beverage movement in downtown Fredericton. Assist the Executive Chef in supervising and coordinating the activities of the culinary team.
Your duties will include overseeing our two food outlets, Maxwell's steak and seafood, the Joyce pub, and banquets, responding to customer issues, and developing new menu options.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand
- Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs
- Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner
- Monitor and record inventory
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
- Train and support junior kitchen staff
- Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized culinary school preferred or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
- Teamwork-oriented with leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
