Job Summary:
Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Welder. This is a seasonal position hiring multiple candidates. Welders are expected to repair buckets, sluice runs and trommels, and other mining equipment. Successful candidates will have fabrication experience. Materials & truck provided however contractors may be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Remove and replace worn down adapters/frogs/cutting edges from buckets
- Repair cracks in buckets
- Maintain and repair trommels and sluice runs
- Fabricate custom solutions as required
- Take instruction well from others, and bring their ideas into reality
- Communicate with office about restocking material
- Work indoors & outdoors in all weather conditions
- Keep an organized shop and truck, and respect all tools and equipment provided
Qualifications:
- 1 year welding experience
- 1 year fabrication experience
- Placer mining experience an asset
- Knowledge in various cutting techniques
- Class 5 license
This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.
Wages $25-35/hour with overtime after 8hrs.
11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
