GN Systems Inc. is hiring Satellite & Wireless Home Internet Installers/Technicians to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The successful candidate will install, activate, troubleshoot, and repair satellite and fixed wireless home internet services for residential customers. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, outdoors, and at heights while delivering excellent customer service.
Please note: Work is primarily based in Winnipeg, with travel to communities throughout Manitoba.
This is an independent contractor position, and multiple opportunities are currently available across Manitoba. Must supply your own tools, ladders, and work VAN.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience installing/mounting a satellite dish
- Experience in troubleshooting satellite dishes
- Experience installing data and voice cabling (Cat5e & Cat 6)
- 28' ladder
- Own reliable vehicle
- Proof of contractor insurance
- Proof of WSIB clearance
- Crimp and terminate Cat5e RJ45 connector
- Strong command of the English language – both spoken & written
- Neat appearance and good customer service skills
- Ability to work alone
- Ability to accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations
- Maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
- Physically fit, including the ability to lift heavy objects, tools and climb a ladder
Desired Skills:
- The Satellite Technician position can be physically challenging as you will be climbing and working from ladders, in some cases, in excess of 30 feet
- Good understanding of Computers and Android apps
- Must have a smartphone (Android) for work purposes
- Installing, troubleshooting and servicing wireless home internet systems/products in customer’s homes
- You will interact with consumers daily and should be comfortable and able to effectively communicate/train customers
- Current Fall Protection, ladder safety & WHIMS certification, Working at Heights training, liability insurance (contractors only) and WSIB (contractors only)
Responsibilities:
- Comfortable with using handheld tools and working at heights
- You will be exposed to a variety of weather elements, including heat, cold, wind, and rain
- Installation, termination, & testing of Cat5e cable
- Follow safe drilling practices
- Willing to work flexible schedules including daytime, evenings, weekends & overtime as required by the project
- Follow safe work practices
- Willing to travel
