We are seeking a Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor to join our Environmental Planning team. This role may be based in any Jacobs Canada office or approved telework location, reporting to the Environmental Planning Director of Operations within the Americas East Business Unit.
As a senior leader, you will elevate Jacobs’ market presence, guide regulatory strategy, and provide high‑level advisory support on environmental planning, permitting, compliance, and policy matters. You will collaborate across business units, mentor practitioners, and help shape the future of environmental regulatory services at Jacobs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Market Leadership
Shape and execute Jacobs’ Environmental Regulatory strategy to drive near‑ and long‑term profitable growth.
Monitor evolving legislation, regulatory changes, court decisions, and policy trends to assess impacts on clients and service offerings.
Partner with sales teams to identify, pursue, and win high‑value opportunities, including proposal development and pursuit strategy.
Strengthen cross‑market collaboration with Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Energy & Power, and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
Position Jacobs as a thought leader through conference participation, white papers, webinars, and other industry‑facing activities.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment that leverages expertise across business units.
Client Engagement & Delivery
Build and expand relationships with current and prospective clients using your industry reputation and regulatory expertise.
Partner with sales and program teams to engage senior executives at client organizations and strategic partners.
Serve as Senior Advisor or regulatory subject matter expert on complex environmental planning and permitting projects across Canada.
Lead and contribute to proposals, project delivery, and strategic initiatives.
Oversee strategic investments in environmental policy branding, networking, and market positioning.
People Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor and coach early‑ and mid‑career practitioners, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence.
Collaborate with Business Unit leadership to attract, develop, and retain a diverse, high‑performing workforce.
Inspire teams by modeling Jacobs’ values and commitment to environmental stewardship.
Here's what you'll need
Advanced academic background — Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, or other advanced degree in Architecture, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Political Science, or a related Environmental market discipline.
Extensive consulting experience — 15+ years of progressive environmental consulting experience supporting a diverse portfolio of industry clients, largely focused in Ontario.
Must have demonstrated experience supporting clients through environmental regulatory processes for linear and non-linear infrastructure such as pipelines, conveyance, electric transmission lines, roads, transit, and associated facilities in Ontario.
Travel readiness — Willingness to travel for pursuits, project delivery, client relationship management, and talent development.
Exceptional communication skills — Strong oral and written communication abilities, with a proven capacity to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Thought leadership — Ability to demonstrate internal and external thought leadership through publications, presentations, industry engagement, or similar contributions.
High-performance delivery — Proven ability to deliver results efficiently within a highly matrixed, fast‑moving, and complex organizational environment.
Professional involvement — Membership or board leadership in relevant professional associations is considered an asset.
Leadership capability — Possesses the knowledge, skills, and experience required to fulfill the mission and responsibilities outlined for this senior advisory role.

The base salary range for this position is $115,600.00 to $180,625.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
