We are looking for an experienced Business Advisor to join our dynamic team and make a lasting impact on the entrepreneurs and businesses that drive our communities forward.
About the Role:
As a Business Advisor, you will play a critical role in attracting, coaching, and guiding businesses to success. You will work closely with loan and business development clients, helping them navigate the full journey—from ideation to thriving business. With a strong focus on commercial lending, business development, and coaching, you will be instrumental in supporting business owners in achieving their goals and contributing to the economic growth of our communities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Guiding & Advising: Provide expert advice on business plans, proposals, and development strategies.
- Driving Growth: Attract businesses and clients to meet our loan growth objectives, while building and nurturing long-term relationships.
- Evaluating Opportunities: Review and assess loan applications for financial viability and feasibility.
- Coaching for Success: Support businesses with ongoing coaching and aftercare to ensure sustainable growth.
- Delivering Impactful Training: Lead group training sessions on key business topics, empowering entrepreneurs with valuable skills.
- Building Connections: Develop and maintain a network of referral sources to expand our reach and community impact.
What We’re Looking For:
You are a highly motivated, customer-focused communicator with a passion for supporting local entrepreneurs. You bring a blend of analytical expertise, leadership experience, and a hands-on entrepreneurial mindset. You’re a team player who thrives in a dynamic, community-driven environment and can help others turn their business ideas into reality.
Qualifications:
- A business-related degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in banking and lending (chartered bank, credit union, Schedule II bank, or Community Futures).
- Entrepreneurial experience or a business ownership background.
- Proven experience in customer service, business coaching, sales/marketing, and project leadership.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
