Summer Marketing Assistant
Location: Edmonton with ability to work onsite at Métis Crossing, Smoky Lake, AB as needed

We are looking for a dynamic team member for the position of Marketing Assistant. This temporary position runs from May 4 to August 30, 2026. The Marketing Assistant will find ways to generate visitor interest in Métis Crossing to increase visitation and profits. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of advertising and tourism promotions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Business Development Team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Market Research & Lead Generation
- Compile lists of potential clients using LinkedIn, industry directories, business cards.
- Research competitors and summarize their offerings, pricing, and positioning.
- Identify trends in the target market and prepare presentations.
CRM Data Management
- Clean up and update customer records in the CRM system.
- Tag and categorize leads for better segmentation.
- Verify contact details and remove duplicates.
Sales Support
- Assist in drafting follow-up emails for meeting and trade (RVC) prospects.
- Assist with planning and executing Travel Trade webinars.
- Assist with website content review and digital assets assessment. Identify gaps and errors.
- Assist with web content development.
Analytics & Reporting
- Create sales performance dashboard.
- Track KPIs like conversion rates, lead response times.
- Analyze historical data to identify patterns or opportunities.
Internal Process Improvement
- Develop a Business Development onboarding plan and resources for new team members.
- Suggest improvements for email templates or pitch decks.
- Create a quick-reference guide for common customer questions. (Sales/Front Desk)
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· High level of confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism; capable of handling sensitive information with tact and discretion.
· Strong political and cultural sensitivity.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software.
· Adaptability/Flexibility: Handling busy environment, and new tasks.
· Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues and managers.
· Reliability & Punctuality: Showing up, meeting expectations.
Other Requirements
· Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
· Ability to work on-site at Métis Crossing in Smoky Lake as needed.
· A clear Criminal Record Check is required.
· Must be a student returning to school in Fall 2026.
Employment Details
Schedule will be based on working 32 to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of Métis Crossing.
