Overview
We are currently seeking a motivated, compassionate and patient focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing team. This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time as the clinic continues to grow.
The primary responsibility of this role will be performing allergy testing and supporting patients throughout the testing process. Candidates with previous allergy testing experience or allergy clinic experience are strongly preferred; however, hands-on training will be provided for the right candidate who is eager to lean.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment/testing rooms and equipment
- Perform allergy testing procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess health status regularly during allergy testing
- Maintaining accurate patient documentation and records
- Collaborate with physicians and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient care
- Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to infection control protocol
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing with CLHA (College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta)
- Previous allergy testing or allergy clinic experience is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols
- Willingness to learn and participate in hands-on allergy training
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain, handle and safeguard confidential patient information and records in compliance with the Health Information Act (HIA)
- Experience with electronic health records systems such as Med Access
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients
