The Ktunaxa Nation Council has an opportunity for Casual Life Skills Worker in Cranbrook BC. Reporting to the Director of our Social Sector, the opportunity is suited for someone who enjoys qualities and contributes to positive outcomes for the Ktunaxanin̓tik as a whole.
This is a Casual position that will be working in our KNC Complex Care house.
The life skills worker will work at the Complex Care Housing location in Cranbrook on the Ktunaxa Nation Territory. The position will provide direct trauma informed supports to individuals in the Ktunaxa Complex Care Housing program that align with the Nation's cultural values and beliefs for health, intellectual, emotional, physical, traditional, and spiritual wellbeing.
The life skills worker will be flexible, organized, and responsive to the needs of complex clients in a low barrier housing within the context of harm reduction and eviction prevention. The position will work collaboratively with Ktunaxa community health providers, families, and leaders to support individuals with complex care needs. The life skills worker may need to collaborate with external community partners such as IHA Health and Mental Health and Substance use services, primary care, police, justice, and various agencies in an extensive network of community partners. All of the collaboration will honour the right to respect, dignity and self-determination.
