MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques.
OR
- Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one years = directly-related experience.
OR
- High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly-related experience.
EXPIERENCE:
- Two years of recent related experience are required
- Experience with participant recruitment, interviews and consents are required.
- Experience with MS Office and clinical research procedures is required.
- Comfort with web-based applications for research training, study monitoring and data entry is required.
- Experience with the collection of blood (Phelbotomy) is an asset
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power-Point, and other electronic platforms related to research studies is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Attention to detail is required.
- Strict adherence to study protocols is required.
- Ability to work efficiently is required.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible is required.
- Understanding of research ethics – knowledge of the TCPS 2 is required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

Recruitment and Consent:
- Identify suitable study participants who meet study criteria.
- Obtains written and informed consent from participants and /or their Authorized 3rd party.
- Assesses for apacity to re-consent if first person consent was not initially obtained.
- Recruit participants from rheumatology clinic
- Follow up by phone or email.
- Assemble research folders and sample collection kits.
- Book in-person study visits when necessary.
Date Collection and Imput:
- Responsible for the collection and recording of data into the case report forms.
- Establishes and maintains study files, assembling and maintaining essential documents as required.
Sample processing and shipping:
- Responsible for processing and shipping of biological samples.
Other:
- Collaborates closely with other research staff and hospital personnel.
- Liaises with external agencies as required.
- Orders and maintains study-related supplies as needed.
- Monitors trial progress to ensure adherence to the project plan and to identify, evaluate and rectify problems
- Provides general back up support to other team members when required.
- Adheres to all safety and health policies, regulations and safe work practices.
- May be required to preform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
