Medical Office Assistant – Family PracticeAbout the Role
We are a busy, community‑focused family practice seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. Our clinic operates in a high‑paced, high‑volume environment, and the ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and experienced in supporting physicians and patients in a fast‑moving primary care setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Patient Flow
- Greet patients and manage check‑in/check‑out processes
- Verify demographics and ensure accurate information
- Maintain smooth waiting‑room flow in a fast‑paced clinic setting
Phone & Appointment Management
- Handle high call volumes with professionalism and efficiency
- Book and modify appointments quickly and accurately
- Route calls appropriately and provide clear, helpful information
EMR & Documentation
- Schedule appointments and manage tasks within the EMR
- Upload, scan, and organize patient documents
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
Clinical Support
- Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians as needed
- Take vitals (if trained)
- Sterilize instruments and support clinical workflows
Administrative Duties
- Process referrals, requisitions, forms, and specialist correspondence
- Manage prescription renewals and follow‑up tasks
- Support MSP billing processes (knowledge of billing codes is an asset)
Patient Communication
- Provide instructions for labs, imaging, follow‑ups, and clinic policies
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and MOAs to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Contribute to a supportive, efficient, and high‑paced team environment
Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant certificate or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a busy family practice or medical clinic strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and a professional, patient‑centered approach
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during peak periods
- Familiarity with MSP billing codes is an asset
- Commitment to confidentiality and high‑quality patient care

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
