The Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to Nourishing Community and Feed Hope by providing healthy, nutritious food to those who need it most. We rely on the generosity of the community to support the work they do through the donation of food, funds and time. These donations come from individuals, families, organizations, community groups as well as various fundraising/food-raising efforts.
The Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) is hiring for support in our client services, providing direct support to registered clients accessing the Central Okanagan Food Bank services. This role will assist the Distribution & Client Services Coordinator and volunteers with client intake, food distribution, data entry, and participant engagement.
This individual will assist staff and volunteers with daily food hamper builds, distribution, and basic administration. Daily duties also include stocking and re-stocking the market, sorting food, and relieving volunteers. This position may require working some weekends, and statutory holidays.
This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Work experience is an asset. Some heavy lifting is required (i.e., 25 lb. boxes).

To be eligible for Canada Summer Jobs program, you must be:
- be between 17 and 30 years old at the start of the position
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred and
- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- This includes having a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of their summer job
