Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Painter/Labourer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, utilizing various hand and power tools, and assisting with general labour tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow schematics and blueprints accurately. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in construction painting, and caulking while contributing to high-quality project completion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and caulking as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on residential, commercial, or industrial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate application of paint and finishes
- Assist with rigging and setup of scaffolding or ladders to access work areas safely
- Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Perform general labour duties such as moving materials, cleaning work sites, and assisting tradespeople as required
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment throughout projects
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project specifications are met
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting, restoration, or related fields such as residential or industrial painting
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Skilled in handling hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of carpentry, rigging, caulking, and schematics is a plus
- Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer service interactions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks including lifting, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and standing for extended periods
