Congruent Build Inc. is a growing construction and restoration company specializing in emergency response, restoration, and reconstruction services for residential, commercial, and condominium properties throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Our Emergency Services division provides timely response and professional restoration solutions for water damage, flooding, and related building repairs. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Emergency Water & Flood Restoration to join our team and oversee restoration projects from initial emergency response through completion. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, insurance representatives, subcontractors, restoration technicians, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of quality.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage emergency water damage and flood restoration projects from initial assessment through final completion.
- Attend emergency sites to assess damage, define project scope, and coordinate restoration requirements.
- Develop detailed scopes of work, project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate water mitigation activities, including extraction, drying, moisture monitoring, and reconstruction phases.
- Prepare estimates using restoration estimating software (Xactimate).
- Review subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing where required, and manage project costs.
- Maintain project schedules and budgets while ensuring timely completion.
- Issue and manage change orders related to project scope, cost, and schedule adjustments.
- Coordinate and communicate with property managers, condominium boards, homeowners, insurance adjusters, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Conduct site meetings and inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain complete project documentation, including photos, moisture reports, daily logs, invoices, and closeout documents.
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Monitor project profitability through accurate job costing and cost control.
- Ensure all projects meet company standards, safety requirements, and industry restoration practices.
- Participate in emergency response/on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience managing water damage restoration, flood restoration, emergency services, or related construction projects.
- Valid IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is required.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of water mitigation, structural drying, restoration processes, and building repairs.
- Experience using Xactimate is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and construction practices.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent tasks, and make decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable working with digital project management tools and documentation systems.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Additional Assets
- IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification.
- Experience working with insurance claims and restoration files.
- Experience with condominium, commercial, or multi-residential properties.
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR certification.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role requiring travel throughout the GTA.
- Emergency response availability and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Ability to work in active restoration environments.
- Occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.
Pay: $18.09-$31.35 per hour
