West Coast Grill is seeking an experienced and energetic Banquet Chef to join our culinary team. Located on the stunning waterfront in Sooke, BC, we host everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale events, and we're looking for a chef who loves bringing events to life through outstanding food and leadership.
What You'll Do
- Lead the execution of banquet and event food service
- Coordinate event preparation, production, and plating
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and event team
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Assist with menu execution, inventory control, and food cost management
- Support, coach, and motivate kitchen team members
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are exceeded
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of culinary experience, including banquet or high-volume event service
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction
- Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
