Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, depending on candidate.
Hours: 20-40 hours per week
Start Date: Flexible
Training: 3 weeks of paid training provided, no previous experience is required
Application Deadline: August 31, 2026. However, we will be booking interviews and making offers on a rolling basis, so we would suggest applying sooner rather than later.
About Us:
At our firm, we believe that exceptional legal work starts with exceptional people. And with two more lawyers recently added to our ranks, we need to expand our support team.
We're looking for a paralegal/legal assistant who is equal parts organized, thoughtful, and resourceful. Someone who takes pride in producing excellent work, communicates openly, enjoys being part of a team, and can keep a cool head when priorities change.
We care just as much about how we work as what we accomplish.
Our values are simple:
- Transparent – We communicate honestly and openly with our clients and with each other.
- Thoughtful – We don't rush to conclusions. We ask good questions, think critically, and treat people with kindness and respect.
- Thorough – Details matter. We believe that careful work today prevents problems tomorrow.
What You'll Do:
Your days will be varied and engaging. Depending on your experience, you'll assist our lawyers with:
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Managing client files from opening to closing
- Communicating with clients, other counsel, courts, and government offices
- Preparing and filing court documents
- Managing deadlines and calendars
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has outstanding attention to detail
- Is naturally organized and dependable
- Thinks independently and enjoys solving problems
- Is kind, respectful, and professional
- Works well under pressure without sacrificing quality
- Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Enjoys collaborating with others
- Is adaptable and comfortable learning new areas of law
- Can laugh with us on busy days
Experience in a law office is an asset, but attitude, aptitude, and work ethic matter to us more.
Why Work With Us?
We spend a lot of time together, so we believe work should be enjoyable.
You'll join a supportive team that values curiosity, continuous learning, and helping one another succeed. We trust our people, encourage questions, and try to practice law in a way that is sustainable for both our lawyers and staff alike.
If you're looking for a workplace where people genuinely care about each other and where high standards are matched by mutual respect, we'd love to hear from you.
How to Apply
Please send us:
- Your resume
- A cover letter telling us why you're interested
- One example of something you've organized, improved, or solved that you're particularly proud of (it doesn't have to be legal)
One final request: In the final sentence of your cover letter, tell us your favourite way to spend a Saturday. We promise there's no right answer—we just enjoy getting to know the people behind the resumes. (It also lets us know you read the posting carefully.)
Our Process
We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Candidates who have interviewed and are selected to proceed to our second stage will be invited to participate in a paid, working-interview and given the opportunity to interview the current support staff.
