As the business looks to strengthen its leadership bench and support continued growth, it requires an experienced Assistant Restaurant General Manager to work closely alongside the General Manager across daily operations, staff leadership, and guest experience. This Assistant Restaurant General Manager role reports directly to the General Manager and offers the opportunity to grow within a highly respected, top rated operation.
Compensation
- Base salary of $70,000.
- Additional gratuities of $6,000.
- 3 weeks of vacation.

Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily front of house operations, ensuring consistent service and guest satisfaction.
- Lead and supervise front of house staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Step in for the General Manager in their absence, maintaining continuity across service and operations.
- Monitor service standards and guest feedback, addressing issues quickly and professionally.
- Assist with labor cost management, scheduling efficiency, and staffing levels to align with business needs.
- Support inventory management, ordering, and vendor coordination in partnership with the culinary and bar teams.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations at all times.
- Partner with the General Manager on staff development, coaching, and building a strong service culture.
- Support the planning and execution of reservations, private events, and high volume service periods.
- Help maintain financial controls, including cash handling procedures and point of sale accuracy.
- Contribute to maintaining the restaurant’s reputation and guest experience standards, including its standing on platforms such as OpenTable.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new front of house team members.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a restaurant management or assistant management role, ideally within a high volume or high caliber dining environment.
- Proven ability to lead and support a front of house team.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including scheduling, labor cost, and service standards.
- Experience maintaining compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Strong guest service orientation with the ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, high volume restaurant environment.
- Experience with point of sale systems and cash handling procedures.
