Overview
We are seeking an assistant service manager to support the daily operations of our growing service department. As assistant service manager, you will work closely with our Service Manager to coordinate shop and field service operations across the Yukon, BC, and NWT. Travel will be required in this role to support our shop locations between Whitehorse and Dawson City. You will play a key role in ensuring work is scheduled efficiently, customers are kept informed, technicians are supported and managed and that mechanical work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
Salary will be $70,000+ annually based on relevant experience, plus KPI bonus. Employees are eligible for health and dental benefits after three months of employment.
Duties
- Assist with the day-to-day management of service operations across multiple locations and field service divisions.
- Coordinate technician scheduling, work assignments, and resource allocation.
- Support the planning and dispatch of mobile mechanical service teams.
- Maintain clear communication with customers regarding repairs, estimates, timelines, and service updates.
- Assist in preparing work orders, estimates, invoices, and service documentation.
- Monitor job progress, labour utilization, and service department performance.
- Work closely with parts, sales, and service teams to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Experience in a service advisory, service coordination, shop supervision, or service management role.
- Knowledge of heavy duty equipment, trucking, automotive, and industrial service operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Computer literacy: email, google docs, excel
- Experience with Windward System 5 and Shopmonkey is a strong asset.
- Class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract
