THE ROLE
AtSource Recycling Systems is searching for a Service Technician to join our Preventative Maintenance & Service Team. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Technician will be a key part of the team, responsible for independently performing advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer-owned and company-owned waste and recycling equipment. This position will be a hands-on role with most of the maintenance work conducted at customer sites.
Location: Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam, BC; in person
Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-level of customer service using a company provided vehicle
- Travel to a variety of customer sites across multiple industries to perform planned maintenance and troubleshooting of customer and company-owned waste and recycling equipment for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control system issues.
- Maintain a high standard of customer communication by reviewing & explaining maintenance, repairs or other service concerns directly with the customer
- Create detailed site reports and document all materials and time through work orders
- Assist in any shop activities assigned by the Service Manager and Operations Manager
- Maintain the condition of the service vehicles. Manage the site tool inventory and ensure all tools and consumables are tracked, updated and cared for
- Participate in the Service on-call program
- Maintain a safe work environment by embracing company safety policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and implement efficiency enhancements
- Other tasks and duties as required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience or trade(s) certificates, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong aptitude of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to think on your feet and utilize strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of work within a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met
- A driven, accountable mindset with a commitment to completing tasks efficiently
- Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute wherever needed
- Ability to establish good working relationships, both internally and with external stakeholders
- Demonstrates passion and drive for the future of the organization
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence with a clean driver’s abstract. A valid forklift license would be of benefit

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
