Overview
Agile Electromagnetics is a Canadian company focused on developing next generation remote sensing and counter-drone systems.
This role will be a critical part of our team, leading the systems engineering effort as part of a multi-domain team. They will work closely with the hardware, software, and signal processing teams to deliver novel solutions for our customers. This role requires someone with the ability to work collaboratively, communicate their vision, and deliver solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize RF systems
- Perform RF system modeling, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and performance analysis
- Work with the customers to elicit and define system requirements and desired capabilities
- Author or oversee the creation of project deliverable documents
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to review project performance monthly, analyze risks (technical, cost, schedule), and take corrective action as needed
- Support testing activities including verification and validation of requirements, reviewing test cases, and producing Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs)
- Proactively identify opportunities for product and process improvements and drive the implementation of necessary changes
- Conduct laboratory and field testing using RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and software-defined radios (SDRs) at the system level
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, lead and mentor
- Participate in every phase of product development, including requirements definition, architecture and concept definition, specification and selection of components, algorithm definition, detailed implementation, integration and characterization
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in engineering in a defence environment
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related field
- Broad knowledge of the System development process and lifecycles, requirements definition and management
- Experience utilizing MBSE techniques and tools to model complex systems
- Experience developing systems engineering documentation
- Experience developing and implementing system test plans
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent leadership skills
Nice to have
- Military or defence industry experience
- MASc or PhD in engineering
- Experience with electronic warfare or radar systems
- Experience with embedded systems, FPGA development, or machine learning applications for RF systems is an asset.
This is a hybrid role at our office in Kanata and requires the ability to be certified to access Controlled Goods and gain a security clearance.
