About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technologist, specializing in the inspection and design of electrical systems, to join our dynamic team. Our projects encompass new construction, renewals, energy consulting, and one-off inspections across mechanical, electrical, envelope, and civil work.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct in-depth inspections and assessments of electrical systems in existing buildings, including load evaluations, life expectancy reviews, and code compliance.
- Produce clear, strategic electrical planning reports for clients, focusing on long-term needs such as EV charging capacity, HVAC modernization, energy upgrades, and safety improvements.
- Design and layout electrical systems and upgrades, ensuring code compliance, constructability, and practicality.
- Estimate upgrade costs, assist in developing capital plans, and support tender documentation and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on energy audits, depreciation reports, and building renewal plans.
- Review and coordinate architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings to ensure cohesive integration with electrical systems.
- Attend client meetings, present findings and recommendations, and help guide decision-making around electrical investments.
- Optionally support or oversee electrical aspects of construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and field inspections.
- Assist in preparing presentations and attending client meetings (after hours from time to time).
- Maintain organized project documentation and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Support internal knowledge sharing and contribute to technical standards development.
Safety::
- Observe Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) when working on site; assist with development of SOP’s for new scopes of work
- Ensure Hazard Id’s are determined/recorded before any project fieldwork is started.
Required Qualifications: :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with EGBC, or ASTTBC registration.
- 0-2 years work experience in electrical design or consulting.
- Knowledge of CEC 2024, BC electrical permitting processes, and relevant municipal bylaws.
- Strong interest in building science and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software is an asset.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits.

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,000 and $60,000*.
- Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
