Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong administrative skills, and familiarity with dental office procedures and software. Experience with electronic medical records and dental practice management systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments using electronic medical records systems.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accordingly.
- Assist with billing, coding, and processing payments efficiently.
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and patient flow.
- Prepare and manage correspondence, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management of office supplies.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless clinic operations and excellent patient care.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing electronic medical records.
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with office equipment, including computers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
