HVAC Technician (Residential & Commercial) – Hourly + Bonus

Compensation: Base hourly wage plus bonus pay
Role Summary
Air Tech is hiring a HVAC Technician to look after both residential and commercial customers. This is a performance-based role: you’ll earn a strong base wage, and you’ll increase your income by selling the right work the right way—through clear communication, strong diagnostics, and professional recommendations.
You’ll also play a key role supporting our commercial membership program, completing quarterly maintenance visits and maintaining long-term relationships with our commercial clients.
What You’ll Do
Residential & Commercial Service
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain forced air furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, RTUs, and related components
- Perform start-ups, troubleshooting, and repairs including electrical, airflow, venting, refrigeration, condensate drainage, and gas-related checks (within your certification)
- Complete maintenance visits and inspections and identify reliability, safety, and efficiency improvements
Commercial Membership (Quarterly Visits)
- Complete quarterly heat and cooling visits for our commercial members
- Perform inspections, identify risks, document findings, and provide clear recommendations
- Build long-term relationships and be the “go-to” technician for assigned commercial accounts
Selling / Commission Responsibilities
- Present Good / Better / Best options and explain pros and cons in plain language
- Provide upfront pricing and obtain approval before starting work
- Recommend repairs, upgrades, and accessory improvements where appropriate such as IAQ filtration, UV, humidification, thermostats, surge protection, duct improvements, and equipment replacements when justified
- Close work confidently and ethically—no pressure, no surprises, no guessing
Documentation & Customer Experience
- Complete photos, notes, recommendations, invoices, and close-out steps in our systems
- Maintain a clean worksite and respect customer property
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and the office so jobs run smoothly and nothing gets missed
Commission Structure (High-Level)
- Base hourly wage plus commission on everything you sell
- Up to 10% commission on sold items (performance-based)
- Commission is tied to quality expectations such as proper documentation, customer satisfaction, and low call-backs
Detailed commission rules, eligibility, and payout timing are provided during the interview stage.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong residential and commercial service HVAC experience
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong customer communication
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Comfortable using an iPad/phone for estimates, invoices, photos, and notes
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and pride in workmanship
Licences and Certifications (Advantageous)
- Refrigeration ticket
- Gas Fitter certification
- Boiler / hydronic experience

- Strong close rate through clear options and professionalism
- Accurate documentation and consistent close-outs

Relocation Allowance
For the right candidate, Air Tech may offer a relocation allowance to support your move. Details are based on experience, role fit, and start timeline, and will be discussed during the interview process.
Pay: $35.00-$65.00 per hour
