What You'll Do

As an Accounting Technician, you will work closely with the partners and accounting team to provide bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting support to a diverse range of clients. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and delivering exceptional client service.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
Processing payroll and preparing payroll remittances
Preparing GST returns and maintaining CRA accounts
Reconciling bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Maintaining accurate client records and documentation
Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
Communicating with clients regarding bookkeeping and payroll inquiries
Supporting personal tax preparation as required
Preparing T4s, T5s, and other information slips
Using accounting software to maintain financial records and reports
Assisting with administrative and special projects as required

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a public practice accounting firm
Experience with bookkeeping and payroll processing
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Assets (Nice to Have)

Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, CaseWare, TaxCycle, or other tax and accounting software
Experience preparing T4s, T5s, and year-end working papers
Familiarity with personal and corporate income tax preparation

Compensation & Schedule

Full-time position (44 hours per week)
Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays during busy seasons
Health and dental benefits after the probationary period
