Job Summary
Green Again Irrigation Inc. is seeking a skilled Horticulture Technician for full time, permanent employment based in King City, Ontario. This position involves specialized work in irrigation systems installation, maintenance, and repair, along with horticultural and landscape care across multiple project sites in the Greater Toronto Area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing sites, reading blueprints, installing and maintaining irrigation systems, diagnosing and repairing system issues, and performing advanced landscape maintenance tasks. The role requires strong hands on experience with irrigation systems, equipment, and tools, as well as the ability to work independently in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in horticulture or irrigation systems, with demonstrated experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. A valid driver’s licence and the ability to work in all weather conditions are required. Only candidates with relevant and verifiable experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and determine work requirements
- Survey and assess designated sites
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems
- Operate irrigation pumps and related equipment
- Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and other lawn care treatments
- Perform pruning, spraying, and repair of landscape areas
- Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose disease and health issues
- Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens
- Repair and maintain tools and equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in horticulture or irrigation systems
- Proven experience with irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience accepted
- Wage: $38.00 per hour, 40 hours per week
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of demanding labour
- English required, Spanish is an asset
