ECE Assistant

Requirements

First Aid certification

Able to provide an up to date immunization record as per new Ministry requirements, a clear health and vulnerable sector police check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities:

Work with the child care “team” to ensure that the programs are in accordance with the Ministry of Education Early Years Act and the County of Simcoe quality Assurance.
Work any shift as required – to be discussed during the interview between 6:30 am-6:30pm
Develop and implement with your “team” individual and group curriculums school age children incorporating the ELECT and HDLH Framework
Ensure that the Program Philosophy and Behaviour Guidance Policies of the Centre is upheld
Ability to successfully carry out administrative duties as required
Possess the skills and interest towards successfully providing enrichment activities, recreational activities, sports and active games for the Kindergarten and School Age children
Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written); highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to co-operate, follow instructions and make difficult decisions; ability to deal with conflict
Comfortable in a Team environment that is fast paced and very creative
Must be responsive to family and staff needs; have strong problem solving skills; ability to evaluate and ensure that staff develop a program that is consistent with the Centre philosophy
Demonstrated ability to work with families in complex situations and from a variety of cultures
Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs
A genuine love and commitment towards the Early Childhood Profession and working with young children
