Parts Technician – Full-Time, Permanent Position

THE ROLE
As a key member of the Vanee Farm Centre Inc. team, the Parts Technician reports to the Parts Manager and is responsible for supporting the success of the Parts department. This role is accountable for delivering exceptional customer service, maximizing parts sales, and maintaining high-accuracy inventory control to support both counter customers and the service shop. The Parts Technician's primary focus is on managing day-to-day warehouse logistics, executing precise shipping and receiving, and providing technical guidance to resolve customer inquiries efficiently. Additionally, this position plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime by processing orders, coordinating inter-branch transfers, and auditing all documentation to ensure smooth, profitable operations. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Build and maintain loyal customer relationships through welcoming service, accurate price quotes, and proactive sales solutions.
- Process and audit vital documentation for customer transactions, part returns, and warranty claims to ensure flawless administrative compliance.
- Deliver responsive service across phone order desks and front counter sales channels to handle inquiries and secure parts sales quickly.
- Lead daily warehouse operations by managing all local and out-of-town product distribution utilizing optimal shipping methods.
- Support service shop technicians by efficiently looking up, allocating, and billing components to active mechanical work orders.
- Pick and receive stock continuously while maintaining absolute inventory accuracy using corporate electronic management systems.
- Produce accurate transaction records across the entire parts team to streamline data entry and operational efficiency.
- Execute shipping and receiving workflows on a daily basis to keep inventory moving fluidly.
- Expedite emergency orders immediately to minimize equipment downtime and resolve critical client shortfalls.
- Coordinate inter-branch transfers to balance inventory levels across regional company facilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous parts experience (considered an asset).
- Completion or acceptance into the Parts Technician program (considered an asset). Applicants currently enrolled in a Parts Technician program are encouraged to apply.
- Functional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with the computer and various applications such as Office 365 and business systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively with others.
- A valid Driver’s License (Class 3 considered an asset).
- Capable of Heavy Lifting.
- Forklift Experience.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The starting wage for this position is $24.00 per hour. Compensation may be adjusted based upon the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
