Job Title: Accounting Manager
Duration: 6-8 months
Job Summary
Robert Half is seeking an interim Accounting Manager for a west GTA client, to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing month-end close activities, and supporting continuous process improvements across the accounting function. The Accounting Manager will also supervise a small accounting team and serve as a key liaison for auditors and cross-functional stakeholders. This working arrangement is 4 days onsite.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and approve all account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
Maintain reconciled bank account and credit card balances.
Prepare and file sales tax returns.
Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee the accuracy of weekly billings and payments.
Supervise and support a two-person accounting team across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Provide backup support for A/P, A/R, and Financial Analyst responsibilities during vacations and peak periods.
Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Finalize work instructions and recommend process improvements in collaboration with the accounting team.
Participate in ERP enhancement and improvement initiatives.
Ensure internal controls are appropriately designed, implemented, and followed.
Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
5+ years experience in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Progressive accounting experience, including experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Experience with NetSuite required.
Advanced Excel skills required.
Experience working with a multi-segment account structure required.
Experience supporting or participating in Big Four external audit environments preferred.
CPA is nice to have.
Preferred Skills
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Experience with ERP process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.
